Bringing your Dog

At Visit Dartmoor we all have our own dogs, and love to share our holidays with them. A family trip away just wouldn’t be the same without your furry four-legged friends; Dartmoor is a superb place to have a holiday with your canine companion, thanks to its variety of dog friendly places to stay, eat and visit.

There are fantastic walks to suit every type of dog and their families, from easy flat walks to hardier and more challenging hikes over hills and tors for the best panoramic views. Some of our bike-hire centres have “dog-chariots” so that older/less fit dogs or simply those with very short legs can enjoy your cycling adventures with you!

Traveling with Families

Imagine the perfect week away with your family; how would you be spending it? Would you be playing outdoors, discovering wildlife and reconnecting with the elements? Perhaps you’d prefer to pay a visit to exciting family attractions, jumping on thrilling rides and getting up close to exotic animals?

Dartmoor offers all that and so much more, so each day will be different from the last. You’re also spoilt for choice when it comes to places to stay, from rustic cottages on the high moorland to cosy accommodation in Dartmoor’s towns with all the modern fittings and comforts of home.
