Self Contained Rooms & Apartment

The Ramblers’ Rest is now a guesthouse in what was The Railway Inn, an 18th Century former hotel and public house in the centre of Princetown.

Our self-catering accommodation concept was born around new safety protocols necessary in a global pandemic and designed around our challenging English weather, and the practicalities for accommodation for walkers and cyclists.

The Ramblers’ Rest has been created to offer comfortable accommodation after a day of exploration.  We are geared up to cater for a range of visitors and can even accommodate large groups of up to twenty-seven people. We are mud and pet friendly and we welcome dogs in the majority of our rooms.  We know that you want to explore our local landscape and so have introduced a concept of ‘simple self-catering’: we provide you with a sink, fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave, giving you flexibility and freedom.  This allows you to prepare packed lunches, organise hungry children and enjoy fresh milk with your complimentary tea or coffee.

Our bedrooms are all ensuite and our main beds are all 6ft long divans (we have a lot of tall friends).  We offer king sized and even superking bedrooms and our guests frequently comment on the comfort and how well they slept.

The Apartment is a great choice for families and groups offering a self contained and self catering option. Offering contemporary design with thoughtful features, the Apartment can host up to eight people in comfort and in a range of configurations.
